Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSEARCA:XLY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/XLY]) has slipped [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/XLY/charting?interval=YTD] 1.74% so far this year, compared with a 1.41% rise in the broader S&P 500 index over the same period.

RH (RH [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/RH]) ranked next with a short interest of 19.84%, while Duolingo (DUOL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DUOL]) stood at 18.57%.

On the least-shorted end, Polibeli Group Ltd. (PLBL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/PLBL]) recorded short interest of 0.01%, followed by VinFast Auto Ltd. (VFS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VFS]) at 0.10% and Luckin Coffee Inc. (LKNCY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LKNCY]) at 0.63%.

Overall, short positioning across the consumer discretionary sector in January remained concentrated in apparel, retail and consumer-facing discretionary names, while several large companies continued to carry relatively low short interest.
