With Walmart (WMT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WMT]) becoming the first traditional retailer to achieve a $1T market capitalization, which company will be next?
Eli Lilly's (LLY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LLY]) valuation hit $1T last November, making it the first pharma company to cross the threshold. Its market cap has since gone lower and is currently at $929.65B.
There are currently eight companies that have made it into the $1T market cap club, with several — like Nvidia (NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) and Apple (AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) — going on to hit more trillion-dollar milestones.
We asked Seeking Alpha readers in a recent Sentiment Survey [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfyAmzcVLTOAvca3wnl7u50FNwS5kTfuiXMi4vRBPXwAXrhtA/viewanalytics] which company will be the next to reach the $1T milestone.
Out of the nearly 900 responses, about 45% expect JPMorgan (JPM) to be next. JPM's market cap currently stands at $815.98B, so it still has some way to go.
The next popular choice in the survey was Exxon Mobil (XOM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/XOM]), followed by Visa (V [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/V]) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/JNJ]).
