Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) shares rose 10.22% to $216.70 in premarket trading, following the announcement of a five-year strategic partnership with Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META). Under the terms of the agreement, AMD will supply up to six gigawatts of AI infrastructure capacity to Meta, representing potential sales of up to $60 billion worth of artificial intelligence chips. The deal includes the deployment of custom Instinct MI450-based GPUs and 6th Gen EPYC "Venice" processors starting in the second half of 2026.

To align the companies' long-term interests, AMD issued Meta a performance-based warrant for up to 160 million shares of common stock. These warrants vest in stages tied to specific shipment milestones and share price thresholds, potentially allowing Meta to acquire as much as a 10% stake if AMD's stock price hits $600.

Meta shares are unchanged.
