Investing.com -- Citi has placed KLA Corp on a 30-day positive Catalyst Watch ahead of the company’s 12 March Investor Day in New York, citing expectations for a stronger long-term financial model and potential product announcements.

Citi analyst Atif Malik said investor attention will centre on KLA’s updated target model, the trajectory of process-control intensity and opportunities for further outperformance and market-share gains.

Malik wrote that the bank expects KLA could reach “$24Bn/$68 revenue/EPS in 2030 on $200Bn WFE,” supported by rising process-control intensity and “modestly improving gross margins of 63% from 2026 levels.”

The analyst highlighted that top-down wafer-fab equipment scenarios support a constructive long-term outlook.

According to the note, Citi’s bull case suggests “2026/2027 WFE could reach $140Bn/$180Bn, with $200Bn WFE likely achieved in 2030.”

The bank added that KLA “has the most upside among large cap semi caps of 35% on 2027 WFE, in our view.”

Citi also emphasised that process-control intensity is becoming “structurally larger and more stable,” a dynamic expected to benefit KLA over the coming years.

While acknowledging that the stock has underperformed peers since earnings on concerns tied to the weaker WFE outlook and process-control trends, Citi argued that the core “investment thesis of elevated process control intensity and share gains is intact.”

The bank reiterated its Buy rating and said it expects KLA to lift its target model and potentially introduce “new advanced packaging products” at the upcoming event.
